Coffin Construction
Sins o' the Flesh
Taking Measurements Jimmy, my friend from work, measures the curve of The Coffin's "bulge". There are LOTS of blue lines on that sheet of plywood!!
The Three Cutouts It took three coffin shaped plywood sections to build The Coffin. That's ME in the center cutout which we later used for the outside frame-- you can see the blue lines where we'll cut the inside section away.
The Coffin Takes Shape After cutting the inside out of one of the sections, we've attached it to the back-piece of The Coffin. It's starting to come together now! (And I'm becoming trapped)
Glue & Clamps OK, that's how we did that cool curve -- lots of glue and clamps!!!
After sanding and finshing the wood work, it was time for painting!
Renee, who also happens to be our
Primary Columbia, and I
painted,
and painted,
and painted,
and painted!!!
Finally, just before its first official use at the
Sins o' the Flesh Alumni Night 2001, we held a brief photo session with these
beautiful
models!
(two pictures)
